Ever since I heard Craig, the founder and long-time CEO of Ibex, speak on the business woman of Proverbs 31 I have been intrigued by the passage. I have since discovered hundreds of publications online on this virtuous woman who was not only a wife but also a mother and a business person.
Did you know that this woman was a:
- Buyer in the agricultural sector – 13
- Seamstress and needle worker – 13, 19, 21-22, 24
- Real estate investor – 16
- Agriculturalist and winemaker – 16
- Commodities trader – 16, 18
- Supply chain sales manager – 14, 24
- General manager – 15
All the while she has a husband and children and was of noble character:
- Her husband has confidence in her – 11-12, 28
- She is an eager and hard worker – 13, 15, 17, 27
- She earns a profit – 18
- She helps the poor and needy – 20
- She is a person of strength and dignity – 25
- She is wise and teaches others – 26
- She takes care of her responsibilities – 27
- She fears the Lord – 30
And the great Mother’s day acclaim of verse 28
”Her children arise and call her blessed”
There are many women like this, single, married, widowed and all – may you have a blessed Mother’s Day this week.
