Exodus and Work

The authors of the Theology of Work Project1 have documented that every book in the Bible has reference to God being a God of work, as a prototype for mankind likewise being commanded to work for the glory of God. One of those books is the book of Exodus.

Someone who had been asked to teach a church class on Business as Mission and Faith and Work asked me for some ideas.  One of those ideas was a message delivered at the Resonate Atlanta church by elder Jonathan Pascual, who is also a member of IBEC’s leadership team and a businessperson. It is well worth the time to listen to this well-delivered lesson based on Exodus chapters 31 and 35, which clearly demonstrates that we are all called to worship God through our work.

Jonathan expertly “rightly divides the word of truth” and leaves the listener with three easy to remember words which describe how we live out worship through work:  Excellence, Earning, and Elevation.

Think about listening to this as you commute to work or study – or drive across Kansas (have you ever done that?)
