The BAM Global Summit on May 7th, 2026, included many stories, workshops, networking, and plenary presentations. One of the several sessions I attended included a question asked of the panel of four experts on BAM startups, including our own Bob Bush. The questioner asked what they would suggest as next steps for someone at the beginning of their BAM journey. Here are the responses.
- Attend a conference like the BAM Global one, B4T/OPEN, or Lions Den.
- Take an internship somewhere in the world and get involved.
- Share your ideas with another believer and ask them to join you in the journey.
- Invest in the culture and language of the host people, listen well, and build relationships.
- Pursue excellence in all of this.
- Determine to have a coach and/or mentor; don’t go it alone.
- Do your homework, asking lots of questions.
- Think through your vision or ideal future.
- Experiment with something, testing your ideas against reality.
- Get help in using tools like the learn canvas (e.g. via triventure.com)
